When Will the Movie be Online?

Never fear. Batman Madman is coming to a computer near you . . . soon. After we show the film in Ste. Genevieve on July 25 we will try our best to have the film here, available to watch, later the same night, right here on BatmanMadman.com. If not the night of the 25th, then as soon as possible thereafter.

We are looking around for places to host the film. Right now we plan to use Vimeo.com but may also put it on YouTube (in 4-6 videos because of the 10 minute time limit) or even Google Video.

DARK NIGHT @ THE I-MAX

THE DARK NIGHT
was without a doubt the best BATMAN movie ever. Lance and I,FRF, went to RONNIE'S 20 CINE and saw the movie via I-MAX. Heath Ledger better receive all gratitude for his role as The Joker. Records don't matter,it will shatter them all, because the word is better than the hype. This movie was the best movie I have ever seen.

Our first Blog Buzz

Hey, how about this: The film got it's first write up on a blog recently and we didn't even ask! We're flattered that Fan Cinema Today found our fan film and have mostly kind words for Batman Madman. From the blog post:
Plenty of fan films have been delayed for their special effects, but holding back one until it’s actually listenable? I like this guy [Jim Kline] already. As for the movie, we’ll see how it turns out, but the trailer on their website could use a little paring back—it takes a few minutes to get to what appears to be the main plot: Joker kidnaps Robin and turns him into a Mini-Me of sorts. It’s an interesting idea, so I hope the execution does it justice.

THAT’S A WRAP!

Principal photography for Batman Madman has wrapped and post-production has begun! The producers of the short fan film hope to have the final cut ready for a July 4th release, but due to the amount of digital visual effects in the film & spotty audio problems, it’s still too early to confirm the release date.

Producer / director Jim Kline has been editing night and day (sometimes 13 hrs. at a time) to meet the self-imposed July 4th deadline.

“My biggest pet peeve with low-budget & no-budget indie films is bad audio,” Jim said. “I can tolerate a bad acting performance, lo-res visuals, and whatnot, but when the dialog sounds like it was recorded in an echo chamber, a tiled bathroom, or a coffee can, it quickly becomes a chore to pay attention or even care about what’s going on. So we (the producers) are planning a big re-record weekend where all of the audio that doesn’t meet our standard will be fixed. This may be the deciding factor as to whether we meet the July 4th release date.”

We’ll keep you up to date on the progress of post-production, and when a release date is confirmed you’ll be the first to know.

Until then folks, stay frosty!
